● Whitepaper II (2014)

Based on the contents of the white paper (2012) and in consonance with the latest trends concerning synchrotron radiation facilities in Japan and the world over, This white paper (II) discusses four aspects of the new plan for a futuristic medium size (3-GeV) synchrotron radiation facility with high brilliance in the north eastern provinces (Tohoku) of Japan : 1) social demand, 2) scientific and technological validity and usefulness, 3) management of construction and operation of the facility and 4) regional promotion/reconstruction in Tohoku district and its synergetic effects on the Japanese societety.

● Whitepaper I (2012)

This white paper discusses five aspects related to the new plan for a futuristic medium size (3-GeV) synchrotron radiation facility with high brilliance in the north eastern provinces (Tohoku) of Japan : 1) social demand, 2) relation to reconstruction in Tohoku district from great earthquake disaster, 3) technological validity and usefulness, 4) management for construction and operation of the facility and 5) synergetic effect on the Japanese society.

On 22nd June 2015 the third-party committee, established under the Coordination Subcommittee of the Council for the Promotion of a new Tohoku Synchrotron Light Facility, has published the investigation report. The sites were examined from the perspective of good traffic accessibility and sufficiently good bedrock against vibration including small shakes caused by earthquakes. Three candidate sites proposed by Marumori-Town, Matsushima-Town and Ohsato-Town in Miyagi prefecture have satisfied the required conditions.
